Literature Text

Twisting and falling and hiding within,
Losing their faith as they enter the fray,
In stony silence while they tear their way in,
Long beyond caring how ends this day
A blood red sun rising up over the din,
As they continue to fall in its baleful rays.

A cry escapes from bloodied lips,
All fighting slows to see,
A might beast has risen from beyond the ships,
A fearsome thing of the sea.
And the many they run, fall, slide, and trip,
In the mad rust for safety.

But ‘lo! There in the shadowed woods,
A figure has blade in hand
Walks calmly to the beasts great hooves
And here he quietly stands.
He grounds his blade and pulls back his hood,
For he is the Steward of these lands.

The warriors watch from safe distance
As the lone figure quietly speaks.
The beast turns round at his insistence,
And disappears into the deeps.
What that the figure faded, still in his quiet stance,
And now I rise from slumber, grasping for a dream…
A poem I wrote for english before I learned we had to perform them before the class. Then I wrote two more so I didn't have to recite this one...

Enjoy!

I enjoyed reading this. I liked the imagerys you protrayed however I find that it's 'wordy,' to many unnecessary words that interupt the flow of the poem. You could do without some 'and's, the's, a's.'
Maybe try and cut some of the caps out as well, there's no need for every line to be capatalized.

All in all, a very nice read...must have been some dream!
